What you should look for in a reliable Electronics Manufacturer

There’s a lot to consider when searching for a reliable electronics manufacturer but these considerations should help you separate the unworthy from the trustworthy.

When you choose to work with an electronics manufacturer you are putting your trust and reputation on the line. Not to mention the associated costs and time spent on a project so the last thing you want is for it to be unsuccessful. That is why it is integral that you do your research before hand to ensure you’re working with the experts.

When researching a potential electronics manufacturer you should consider:

Industry Experience & Reputation

Ideally you will want to work with an electronics manufacturer that is well established and has extensive experience within the industry. This should ensure the highest quality of work and customer service. You should seek out testimonials from companies they’ve previously worked with – don’t be afraid to get in touch with that company to gain your own feedback.

Capabilities

Your choice of electronics manufacturer should have the capabilities to meet projects of different sizes, requirements and deadlines. Their facilities and commitment to investing in new technology will speak volumes about their overall operation. For instance UK Electronics has continued to invest in people skills and the latest technology available. In early 2016 we introduced a new fully automated Surface mount line which included the very latest ‘Decan’ placer from Samsung. This machine was the first to be installed in the UK and has a placement rate of 80,000cph. Fast forward to 2018, we have invested a further £150k in installing a Samsung Hanwha SM481 plus flexible pick and place machine and a Samsung SP450V fully automated screen printer. With the latest investment it has allowed UKE to increase capacity by approximately 40%. The best electronics contract manufacturers are the ones who continue to invest to increase their capabilities for their customers.

Quality Assurance

Electronics manufacturers that hold specific certifications or work to industry standards are far more reliable than those that don’t. Quality assurance provides a level of accountabilities that protects you as the customer. To remain quality assured many of these companies must be subject to annual checks to retain their certifications.

UK electronics meet and exceed any relevant industry-specific regulations or standards. Having recently had our annual ISO Quality Audit last month we once again have been successful in retaining our ISO Accreditation.

Environmental Impact

A legitimate electronics manufacturer will take responsibility for their own environmental impact through sustainable development. Typically this will be through their commitment to the ‘Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)’ and other in house efforts.
